Gestalt Counselling

Gestalt counselling is a particular kind of therapy. The word Gestalt means whole or complete.

With Gestalt counselling I do not discount the impact your past has on your present. However, I believe your past experiences have brought about fixed ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. It is these fixed patterns that we repeat over and over that bring the same results. By exploring these patterns in a creative way we aim to uncover the parts of yourself that you have disowned and encourage you to make contact with the creative, spontaneous undiscovered aspects of yourself.

Come at the world creatively, create the world; it is only what you create that has meaning.

Drama & Movement Therapy(Sesame)

When we don’t have the language to express our thoughts & feelings, Dramatherapy can help us access the more creative and possibly undiscovered parts of our inner world. Working in a safe and creative environment provides an opportunity to express problems that under normal circumstances would remain inaccessible.

Dramatherapy engages individuals or groups with drama, metaphor, ritual, movement & symbolism as a process of therapeutic healing. It is an oblique and non confrontational way of working that allows the people to explore and reflect on real life experiences. Through role play, re-enactment and improvisation, the unconscious repressed self can discover a hidden voice which can be expressed in a socially acceptable way with the support and encouragement of the group.

In a Dramatherapy session you can do as much or as little as you want. No one makes demands on you to perform. Dramatherapy is not about being good or bad at drama. It is about commitment, exploring group dynamics and having fun. It is by engaging with Dramatherapy that we can confront projections and transform them into positive creative works of art.
